Gum Care (Periodontal Care)

Keeping your gums healthy and in good condition is the foundation of good dental health. Each and every patient in our practice receives a complete periodontal or gum tissue examination/evaluation. Gum disease or periodontitis is painless and rarely has symptoms in its early stages, so many people have it but don’t find out until the disease has advanced.

75% - 80% of adults have some form of gum disease, and don’t even know it. Studies have proven that gum disease has lasting effects on your systemic health. Gum disease is associated with many life-threatening diseases including stroke, heart disease, diabetes, and premature low birth weight babies. By taking care of periodontal or gum health you can decrease your risk for these diseases.

Patient education and an expert soft-tissue management program with our hygienist is the first step to a healthy smile. By using our high tech software system, we can actually chart your gum health in our system by speaking to our computers – using voice activated software allows us to concentrate on what’s really important – you.

Working together we can often improve and maintain your periodontal health, assuring you have a healthy smile for life.
